僕の絵には、外側の世界に触れて生まれるものと、内側の世界から立ち上がるものがある。人や風景に触れ、その魅力をすくい取る「DRAWING」と、頭の中のアイディアやキャラクターを形にする「ILLUSTRATION」。タッチは大きく異なっていても、そのどちらも欠くことのできない僕自身の輪郭だ。
色鉛筆、水彩、アクリル、ペンなど、アナログならではの手触りを大切にしながら、デジタルでも線のリズムを生かしたシンプルな作画を行う。クライアントワークでは、カルチャー、ファッション、食の領域を中心にイラストレーションを手がけている。日々のスケッチで観察眼を磨きながら、イベントやブランドのVIP向けライブポートレートも手がける。お酒にまつわる企画にも多く関わり、「BEER LOVER」シリーズのグッズも展開。
東京生まれ。少年期をインドと鎌倉で過ごし、多様な文化や色彩感覚に触れる。そうした体験を背景に、国内外で出会う人や土地の空気感を、旅とスケッチを通して描き続けている。グラフィックデザイン事務所を経て、2010年に独立。
My work consists of two kinds of images: those born from contact with the outer world, and those that arise from within. “DRAWING” captures the appeal of people and landscapes through direct encounter, while “ILLUSTRATION” gives form to the ideas and characters that emerge in my mind. Though their styles differ greatly, both are indispensable contours of who I am.
While valuing the tactile qualities unique to analog media—such as colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic, and pen—I also create digitally, using a simple visual language shaped by the rhythm of line. In my client work, I create illustrations mainly in the fields of culture, fashion, and food. Alongside my daily sketch practice, through which I continue to sharpen my eye for observation, I also create live portraits for VIP guests at events and for brands. I have also been involved in many alcohol-related projects, and have developed goods for my “BEER LOVER” series.
Born in Tokyo, I spent my childhood in India and Kamakura, where I was exposed to a wide range of cultures and sensibilities of color. Shaped by these experiences, I continue to depict the atmosphere of the people and places I encounter in Japan and abroad through travel and sketching. After working at a graphic design studio, I became independent in 2010.
